Minister Angela Lucille Gresham Jackson was born in Winder, GA, and attended the Jefferson City School System where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980. Angela furthered her studies and graduated from Athens Technical College, Athens, GA with a Diploma in Business and Office Technology with a Specialty in Business Science. She also graduated from Lanier Technical College, Oakwood, GA with a Diploma in Medical Assistant where she was certified in Health Care. She was retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Gainesville, GA
At an early age, Angela received her Christian foundation from New Salem Baptist Church and joined as a member under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. E.T. Smith. She was a member of the ETS Choir and the Divine Choir. She also served as Youth Director for a period of time. On March 28, 2010, Angela preached her Initiatory sermon and was licensed under her current Pastor, the Rev. Hazel Quarles. She faithfully attended church even after her health began to decline.
Her community involvement included the Jackson County Community Outreach and Parental Advisor for the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson, GA
Minister Jackson was also preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Minnie Wilson Gresham and a Sister-In-Law, Vanessa Gresham
Left to cherish her memory includes her husband, Rev. Stevie Jackson, Jefferson, GA. Three sons, Stephen Rashad Jackson, Christopher (Denetra) Jackson, Leeandrus Swift; Two daughters; Raisa Swift and Brianna Swift, all of Jefferson, GA. Two sisters, Sylvia (Rev. Terrell) Shields, Rome, GA; Veronica Gresham; Jefferson, GA; One brother, Morris Gresham, Jefferson, GA; Three grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brayden and Mason Jackson along with a host of loving nieces, nephews and adopted son, Darius Glasper.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 27, 2017 from the New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Hazel Quarles, Minister Julius Mack, Minister Calvin Maddox, Reverend Jonista Lewis officiating. Reverend R.E. Cooper will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with cousins and 1980 classmates honored as pallbearers. Ministers and their spouses will serve as honorary pallbearers. Flower Ladies will be classmates and cousins. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the funeral home.
