Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Donald Dwight Swaim, age 86, of Gainesville, who passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017. Mr. Swaim was born in Lima, Ohio, a son to the late James Dwight Swaim and the late Geraldine Doris Swaim. Mr. Swaim was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Jefferson and was a Missionary to Mexico. Mr. Swaim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Shetters Swaim, of Gainesville; children, Jeffrey Swaim and his wife Becky of Flowery Branch, Kenneth Swaim of Comer, Sylvia Vance and her husband Richard of Jefferson, Michele Schmeltz and her husband Greg of Oakwood, Michael Swaim and his wife Jenn of Gainesville; sister, Diane Crider of Indiana, brothers, Delmar Swaim of Ohio, Roger Swaim of Michigan and David Swaim of Florida; Thirteen Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren also survive.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00AM in the Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Cudd officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 5 – 8 PM at Evans Funeral Home.

The burial will take place on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM (CST) in the Cowan Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan, Tennessee.
