Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Virginia Ruth Vinson, age 69, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Mrs. Vinson was born in Thomasville, Georgia, a daughter to the late Henry and Gladys Bryant Walker. Mrs. Vinson was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Statham, Georgia, and  formerly a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Candler.   Mrs. Vinson was a  homemaker and was an avid follower of Gospel Singers and loved Gospel Music. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vinson was preceded by a nephew, Terry Laminack, brother, Ottis H. Walker [Hilda], two sisters, Hattie Graham and Ethel Thompson.

Survivors include two sons, Chris Vinson and his wife Debi of Monroe, Steve Vinson and fiancé Sherry of Clermont.  Grandchildren, Stephanie Vinson of Massachusetts, Lindsey Vinson of Dawsonville, Ashley and Alexia Stephens of Clermont; Sister, Tillie Tapley of Thomasville, Nephews, Michael Laminack of Thomasville, Thomas [Marsha] and Randall Graham of Thomasville.  Niece, Cathey Lewis of Thomasville, special brother in law Lamar Thompson of Thomasville, beloved cat “Bossy” and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2017 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Healan officiating with burial to follow in Woodbine Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the funeral home.
