Stan Evans

Stan Evans

Owner, Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Stan is a lifelong resident of Jefferson and began his career in the funeral industry while in high school working for his mentor, Mr. Horace Jackson at Jackson Funeral Home.  All that Stan learned as a young man alongside Mr. Jackson, is still practiced today in the daily operation of Evans Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, and Northeast Georgia Crematory.  Stan, his wife Cathy, son, Carter and daughter Kelsey live in the Dry Pond Community outside of Jefferson and he is a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the Jefferson Lions Club.  Watching his son Carter paddle-boarding, and grilling out is a favorite time for their family.  Stan was elected Jackson County Coroner in 1980 and elected Jackson County Sheriff in 1985 serving 28 years until he decided to slow down a bit and retired in 2012.  He enjoyed serving the people of Jackson County those many years.  Service to others has always been a part of his life, both in politics and in the daily operation of Evans Funeral Home and Memory Gardens and Northeast Georgia Crematory.
