Stan Evans, Owner

Stan Evans is a lifelong native of Jackson County, Georgia, where he grew up in the Brockton Community.

Stan has been a part of the funeral industry for
over 30 years, beginning his career with Jackson Funeral Home of Jefferson. He served as the Jackson County Coroner for four years, and was elected Jackson County Sheriff in 1984, where he has currently served for over 24 years. In 1997 he, along with his family, opened Evans Funeral Home and Evans Memory Gardens of Jefferson.
Stan resides in Jefferson with his wife, Cathy, daughter Kelsey, and son, Carter.


Loyd and Carolyn Evans

Loyd and Carolyn are lifelong residents of Jackson County and with their son Stan. They opened Evans Funeral Home in 1997. Carolyn is active in the funeral home, and Loyd is involved in the cemetery and crematory. They are members of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Robert L. Smith
Licensed Funeral Director-Embalmer

Robby was raised in Thomson, Georgia. He is a graduate of Thomson High School. He graduated from Brewton Parker College and  Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1999. He is a skilled monument designer, manufacturer and engraver of granite monuments. Robby resides in Commerce and enjoys the outdoors and fishing.

Mitch Blinn
Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Mitch was raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is a graduate of Central Gwinnett High School. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service from 1982.
Mitch is a member of the Unity Masonic Lodge #36 in Jefferson, and Jefferson First Baptist Church. He resides in Jefferson with his wife, Donna, and sons, Shawn and Cameron.


Brian Ivey – Funeral Assistant

Brian was raised in Hall County, Georgia. He was a graduate of North Hall High School. He is a member of the Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dahlonega. He resides in Gainesville, with his wife, Tracy, and his daughters, Abigail and Ansley.

Billy O’Kelly- Part-time Funeral Assistant

Billy was raised in Hall County, Georgia. He is a long- time southern Gospel singer, performing with the Sunny South Boys and currently with the Homeland Boys. Billy resides in Jefferson with his wife, Jetta.

Vaughn Howington
Part-time Funeral Assistant

Vaughn was raised in Commerce, Georgia. He graduated from Commerce High school and is an ordained Baptist Minister. Vaughn is the minister at Glory Baptist Church in Homer, Georgia. He resides in Commerce with his wife, Kay, daughters, Mary Beth and Olivia, and son, Adam.


Steve Barden - Part-time Funeral Assistant

Steve was raised in Fulton County, Georgia. He is longtime employee with United Parcel Service and is a member of Galilee Christian Church in Jefferson. Steve is active in several ministries at Galilee and is involved with the PGA, serving a  Hole Captain, recently at the PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Steve resides in Hoschton with his wife, Nancy.

Joan Burneson
Visitation Representative

Joan is a native of Nebraska, where she grew up on her family farm. Joan worked for Honeywell and Eternal Hills Funeral Home in Snellville.

Joan resides in Jefferson and is a member of the Commerce Presbyterian Church and the Jefferson Women’s Club.

Jesse Fowler - Funeral Assistant


Jesse a native of Jefferson and a 2006 graduate of Jefferson High School. He is currently employed by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff.
