Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Florene Patterson Griswold, 88, of Commerce Georgia who passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017.

Mrs. Griswold was born September 24, 1928 in Metter, Georgia a daughter of the late Alfred Ivey and Eula Bell Griffin Patterson.  Mrs. Griswold had held several jobs outside the home but was primarily a homemaker and mother.  Mrs. Griswold was a Baptist by faith and had attended various churches including, First Baptist Church Metter, Jefferson First Baptist and Nicholson Baptist Church.

 In addition to her husband, William Floyd Griswold she was preceded in death by a brother, R.T. Patterson, two sisters, Margaret Samples and Iva Belle Durrence.  Mrs. Griswold was the last member of her immediate family.

Survivors include, son, William Floyd Griswold, Jr and wife Carolyn, Athens, Georgia, son, Jackie Patterson Griswold and wife Jan, Hoschton, Georgia, daughter, Joyce Griswold Warren and husband Ken, Nicholson, Georgia,  Grandchildren, Amy Kathleen Griswold, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Suzanne Marie Griswold, Covington, Georgia, Meredith Leigh Dillard and husband Brad, Loganville, Georgia, Nancy Hartgrove and husband Joshua, Phoenix, Arizona, and Mark Warren and wife Megan, Anchorage, Alaska, Five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be 1 PM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Twin City, Georgia, all family and friends are invited to attend.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 21, 2017 from 2 PM until 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the charity of ones choice or to Alzheimers Association, Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Blvd., NE, Suite 10, Atlanta, Georgia, 30345-3315.
