Evans funeral home announces the death of Mr. David Lee Johnson, 80, of Jefferson who entered into rest April 28, 2017 in Athens, Georgia.

Mr. Johnson was born May 25, 1936 in Jefferson, Georgia to the late C. W. and Ada Nix Johnson and was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Ewing, three brothers, Joe, James and Mike Johnson.  Mr. Johnson was retired from the textile industry and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Frances Whitlock Johnson, Jefferson, Georgia, two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia King and husband Greg, Danielsville, Georgia, Glenda Puckett and husband Mike, Bogart, Georgia, one son David Lamar Johnson, Jefferson, Georgia, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Johnson and wife Mary Nell, Arcade, Georgia, nine grandchildren, Christy Streetman, Alex Greenway, Taylor Tucker, Austin Puckett, Ansley Puckett, Mae Carlyn, Dane, Olivia, and Lilly Johnson, two great grandchildren, Joselyn Streetman and McKenna Tucker. Several Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2 PM in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend William Whitfield and Mr. Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce, Georgia.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 6 PM until 8 Pm at the funeral home.
