Mr. Hoyt W. Cofield

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Hoyt W. Cofield, age 86 of Maysville, Georgia who entered into rest Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Mr. Hoyt was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late Will and Ethel Sealey Cofield, and was a member of New Beginnings Penecostal Church.  Mr. Hoyt was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with the LaFarge Company.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hoyt is preceded by a sister, Mary Stockton and three brothers, Sidney, Cliff and Bill Cofield and his wife Sarah Fletcher Cofield.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Murphy and her husband Ted of Pendergrass,  Shirley Minish and her husband Gerald of Commerce.  Son, Jimmy Cofield and his wife Dawn of Braselton.  Six sisters, Jennie Cofield Stockton of Braselton, Nellie Cofield Watkins of Commerce, Bonnie Cofield Elrod of Commerce, Brenda Cofield Langford of Bremen, Linda Cofield of Commerce, and Agnes Cofield Prickett of Thomasville.  Grandchildren, David Murphy, Amy Murphy Shore, Ben Minish (Laura), Briana Minish Glenn (Taylor), Adam Cofield, Anna Cofield Mills, and Cassie Cofield.  Great Grandchildren, Jayda Shore, Jake Shore, Ethan Minish, Sarah Minish, Lily Mills, and Josh Mills.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Thursday, August 23, 2018 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Norris officiating with burial to follow in the Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Phillip Cofield, Ronnie Cofield, Scott Stockton, Gary Langford, Lester Prickett and Alan Stockton.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the funeral home.
