It's hard to put into words the loss of a loved one. One place I turn to for encouragement in times of distress is the Bible, specifically Isaiah 25:8,9. May that bring you comfort. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Aunt Shirley and Family,
It is with great sadness that we will not be able to attend Uncle Buck's Funeral
Pat and I are in Germany for our 30th Anniversary. We wish we could be there.
