Mr. Michael "Mike" Lake Rector

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Michael “Mike” Lake Rector, age 68 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Saturday, November 24, 2018.  Mr. Rector was born in Birmingham, Alabama a son of the late Omar Karol Rector and the late Dola Ivey Rector.  Mike was a member of the Army National Guard, a member of the Jefferson First United Methodist Church, was a Columnist with Mainstreet Newspapers and was a General Contractor, owning his own Construction Company.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Wiley Rector of Jefferson, children; Mandy Carey and her husband Michael of Douglasville, Jamie Walker of Hinsdale, New York, Ellen Rector of Jefferson and Ross Rainey and his wife Maria of Jefferson.  Brother, Lynn Rector of Jacksonville, Florida and a nephew, Matt Rector of Washington, D.C.. Seven grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 29, 2018 from the Jefferson First United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Laskey officiating with burial to follow in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, Georgia.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the funeral home.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Jim Stodenmire, Tom O’Riley, Ernest Martin, Bobby Wilkins, Andy Evans and Brad Loggins.
