Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Osie Agar “Red” Lewis, age 66, of Covington, Georgia, who passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019. Mr. Lewis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son to the late Osie and Murleen Lay Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a truck driver in construction, where he operated a commercial dump truck. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Duvall.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Sheriff Lewis of Covington; children, Juanita Laudette of Woodstock, Donovan Bruce and his wife Kara of Covington, Osie Lewis Jr. of Covington, Natalie Lewis of Conyers, Virginia Lewis and her husband Ed of Gwinnett, Miriam Gunter and her husband Terrell of Jefferson, Laura Hedrick and her husband Chris of Commerce, Corey McCarthy and her husband Chad of Jefferson; twenty-six grandchildren; his brother and morning coffee buddy, Gary Lewis of Covington; brothers, Ricky and Terry, sisters, Sue, Lucy, Teresa and Avana; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In accordance to the wishes of Mr. Lewis, a private family memorial service will be held on a later date.
