Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Paul Smith, age 77 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Tuesday, September 26, 2017.  Mr. Smith was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late Guy and Moncine Hunter Smith, was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and was a retired Carpenter.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded by brothers, Harold, Clifford, Frank and Junior Smith, a sister Julia Clark, two sons, Eric Carlton Smith and Donald Vinson Smith and his wife, Betty Jean Usher Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Smith and his wife Melende of Gainesville, and Leland M. Smith of Atlanta.  Brother, James Smith of Athens.  Ten grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 30, 2017 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday 11:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
