Mrs. Mary Anne (LaRochelle) Martel

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Mary Anne LaRochelle Martel, age 87, of Jefferson, who passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Mrs. Martel was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a daughter to the late Adelard A., and Albertha M. Camire LaRochelle. Mrs. Martel passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness. She was a Homemaker and a member of the St. Catherine’s Labouré Catholic Church in Jefferson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martel was preceded in death by her sisters, Theresa Baron, Marguerite LaRochelle; brothers, Al LaRochelle, Albert LaRochelle, Paul LaRochelle and Normand LaRochelle. 

Survivors include her husband, Lionel C. Martel of Jefferson, children, Susan Sharpe and her husband Christopher of Schertz, TX, Mary Martel of Oregon City, OR, Katherine Boyd and her husband Spencer of Maysville, Pauline Villagomez, and her husband Jaime of Jefferson, Paul Martel and his wife Cynthia of Ludington, MI.; brothers, Arthur LaRochelle of Etowah, NC, Roger LaRochelle of Franklin, NC; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 10:00 am in the St. Catherine’s Labouré Catholic Church with Reverend Leo Martel officiating. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00am until 10:00am at the church, prior to the service.

The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens, Jefferson, Georgia.
