Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson, GA announces the death of Dr. Richard James Rudio PhD, age 86, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, a son to the late Edward and Edna Von Huber Rudio. Dr. Rudio was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a career Professor of Linguistics. He taught at the prestigious Georgetown University, the Virginia Military Institute, the University of Lille in France, and the University of Miami. He survived by his sons, Raymond Rudio, Pierre Rudio and daughter, Marie Rudio all living in France; nephew John Rudio and his wife Chris, of Flowery Branch, Georgia. A private memorial service will be held later.
