Jim & Bonnie Devore, Jr. Obituary

 

James Albert Devore, Jr., and Bonnetta Carol Williams Devore, longtime Washington County, Pennsylvania residents have passed away in Commerce, Georgia.  Jim was born in New Eagle, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1943, a son of the late James Sr. and Margaret (Dot) Devore and passed away on November 20, 2022.  Bonnie was born in Lemont-Furnace, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred (Tillie) Williams and passed away on July 22, 2022.  Jim graduated from Peters Township High School, attended California University and Pitt.  Bonnie graduated from Monongahela High School and Connelley School of Nursing.  They were young sweethearts that spent most of their sixty years together.  They married on December 13, 1963.  Jim retired from Conoco Coal Company Research Division in Library, Pennsylvania at the age of fifty-five.  Bonnie retired as an LPN from Mon Valley Hospital in Monongahela, Pennsylvania.  They enjoyed traveling with friends and family, spending time with their grandsons, never missing many sporting events or Christmas’ with them.  In recent years they loved seeing their great grandchild and having picnics, dinners, and spending time with them.  For over thirty years they spent time between their home in Monongahela and Condo in Venice, Florida.  Both were members of Wright’s United Methodist Church in Venetia.  Jim and Bonnie moved to Georgia in 2019 due to health issues.  Jim always loved to tinker in his garage, he could tear anything apart and fix it.  It wasn’t uncommon to see him outside with his bandana around his head.  He loved to fish and boat.  Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts and ceramics.

Surviving is their daughter Candis (Eddie) Wiercioch of Jefferson, Georgia. Grandson Zachary (Abigail) Kles, great grandchildren, Harper and Harrison Kles of Jefferson, Georgia, and grandson Joshua Kles of Columbia, Kentucky.  Jim’s brother Parker (Joyce) Durham of Venetia.  Sister-in-law Sally Durham of Maryland.  Brother-in-law Bob (Nancy) Hufford of Monongahela, and many nieces and nephews.  They were preceded in death by Jim’s brother Bob Durham on August 23, 2020.  Bonnie’s sisters Elma Hufford on October 2, 2006 and Judy Williams on July 20, 2022 and niece Tammy Bartholomew on June 14, 2022.  Per their wishes there was to be no services or visitation.
