Margaret Faye (Toney) Griffin

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Margaret Faye Toney Griffin, age 79, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Mrs. Griffin was born in Atlanta, Georgia, a daughter to the late Oma Lee Toney and the late Ophelia Miller Toney. Mrs. Griffin was a loyal member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson and was an owner at Fresh Frozen Foods in Jefferson. Mrs. Griffin was a founding member of Peace Place and served on various boards including City of Jefferson Planning Commission.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Toney. 

 Survivors include her children, Billy and Soja Griffin Jr., of Duluth, Barry and Belinda Griffin of Centerville, VA, Angela and Erik D’Zamko of Jefferson, Andrea Cook of Jefferson; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, 13 close knit female first cousins also survive.  

 A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 4:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Jefferson with Rev. Dr. Michael Helms officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in the First Baptist Church of Jefferson, prior to the service.
