Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Alan ”Ace” K. Nalder, Sr., age
78, of Hoschton, Georgia who entered rest Tuesday, November 5, 2025. Mr. Nalder
was born in Ogden, Utah the son of the late Reed William Nalder Sr. and the late
Margatha Nellstin Nalder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
wife, Jean Elizabeth Reid Nalder, son Joseph William Nalder and nine siblings. He was one of 14 children and was blessed to grow up surrounded by the love, noise, and bond that comes from a very large family. He was Christian and was a member of The Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church.
Ace was proud to be a veteran of the United States Air Force as a Master Sargeant. He met his wife of 49 years during his service and lived in Landstuhl, Germany, Satellite Beach, FL San Antonio, Texas, Cheney, Washington and, after he retired from the military, he settled down in Loganville, Ga. He then began a new career as a lab manager at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He retired from there after 20 years of service.
Opa (the name his grandchildren called him) enjoyed fishing, playing cards and working with his hands. He leaves behind a legacy that continues through his sons, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alan will be remembered for his quiet strength, his kindness, and the unwavering love he showed for his family. His life touched many lives, and his memory will remain with all who knew him. A life well lived and a legacy that continues through those he loved most.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Reed Nalder (Wife, Melissa) of Hoschton, GA
and Alan Nalder Jr. of Royston, GA. Five grandchildren, Katie Lynn Nalder, Keith
Reed Nalder, Joshua Wayne Nalder (Letisha), Alan K. Nalder III and Casey Nalder. Six
siblings, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In accordance with Mr. Nalder’s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services
will be held.
