Mr. Billy Lee Glasby

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Billy Lee Glasby, age 82, of Hoschton, Georgia, who entered rest on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Mr. Glasby was born in Sundance, Wyoming, a son to the late William N. Glasby and the late Jessie Johnson Glasby.

Mr. Glasby served the Armed Forces in the Navy from 1959 to 1964 at which point he was honorably discharged. Mr. Glasby was an avid contributor to his community and church. He served as a Boy Scout leader in addition to serving many other roles in his community over his lifetime. He was the vice president of Broad National Bank in Newark, New Jersey and served in the banking community most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Colleen Glasby, his daughter, Cheryl Iski and his beloved wife Barbara Glasby.

Survivors include his son, Mark Glasby and his wife, Jessica Glasby in addition to his two granddaughters, Hanah and Luna of Portland, Oregon. His daughter, Jennifer Iski and her fiancé Wayne Bollentin of Hoschton, Georgia and Jennifer’s son Christopher Myrick, Billy’s grandson of Thomaston, Georgia. His sister, Beth Lolley of South Dakota.

In accordance with his wishes, Billy was cremated, and a memorial service will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, which would have been his 83rd birthday, at 11:00 A.M. at Hoschton United Methodist Church with Pastor Marvin Mason and Pastor Luis Ortiz officiating.
