Mr. Buncum Lightsey

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Buncum Lightsey, age 88, of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Mr. Lightsey was born in Surrency, Georgia, a son to the late Hiram and Rena Boles Lightsey. Mr. Lightsey was a Field Service Manager for AT&T for thirty-five years and a Property Manager for another thirty-two years. Mr. Lightsey was an avid gardener, was of the Baptist Faith and was a servant to his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lightsey was preceded in death by his sisters, Evon Satterfield, Cheri Parrott, Iris Aspinwall, Carolyn Jones, and brothers, Cecil Lightsey and Leo Lightsey.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Lambert Lightsey of Hoschton; daughters, Michele Jones of Jefferson, Melissa Reidling and her husband Shane of Hoschton, Wanda Cox of Covington; grandchildren, David Arredondo, Whitney Neil, Chesney Jones, Makenzie Tate, McKlane Reidling, Matthew Reidling, and Lauri Lee.  Great grandchildren, Nora Arrendondo, Rosalyn Arrendondo, Wren Neil, Liam Bardwell, Bryson Lee, Sailor Myrick.  Brother, Lowell Lightsey of Lawrenceville; sisters, Cynthia Atkins of Odum, Elane Lightsey of Baxley; and other extended family members also survive.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. David Arrendondo officiating. The burial will follow in Evans Memory Gardens. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Shane Reidling, David Arrendando, McKlane Reidling, Matthew Reidling, Ryan Neil and Mark Jones.

The visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 form 2:00 PM until 4:00PM at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
