Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Carl W. Caswell, age 83, of Buford, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, December 13, 2025. Mr. Caswell was born in Carrollton, Georgia. Mr. Caswell was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie D. Caswell, son, Carl W. Caswell Jr., daughter, Tammy Stovers, three brothers, Donald, Clarence and Jerry Caswell and a nephew, Don Caswell.
Mr. Caswell was a home developer, building many homes in the Atlanta area and also in Jackson County. His last development was Hawk Ridge Subdivision. Mr. Caswell wanted to build communities that brought all races together. He was an environmentalist and donated 16 acres to the City of Jefferson that was annex into the city. He loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing, flying his plane and playing cards.
Survivors include his daughter, LaRue Dellana (James) of Jefferson, GA. Three grandchildren, Nathan Tucker of Jefferson, GA, Nicholas Orlicz of Tennessee and Brittney Caldwell of South Carolina. Three great grandchildren, Ariel Tucker, Charlotte Caldwell and William Caldwell. Step-daughter, Cheryl Chadwick (Wayne) of Buford, GA. Three step-grandchildren, Jonathan , Justin and Jordan Chadwick and a niece, Pam White also survive.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matt Long officiating. Carl’s cremated remains, along with his wife’s cremated remains, will be inurnment at Evans Memory Gardens Niche Tower.
