Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Danny Lanier Cantrell, age 78, of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Mr. Cantrell was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a son to the late George and Joyce Jones Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell had worked as a law enforcement officer with the Hall County Sheriff’s office and the Maysville Police Department. He was a member of the Pendergrass Baptist Church and the Johnnie’s Hill Masonic Lodge #748 in Pendergrass. Mr. Cantrell owned and operated a cabinet and ventilation company, and was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Cantrell and his granddaughter Lauren Buteau.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Cantrell of Hoschton, GA; daughters, Jodi Cantrell of Braselton, Kristi Hollis of Hoschton, son, Josh Hollis of Hoschton; sister, Beverly Gresham of Gainesville; brother, Reggie Cantrell of Cleveland; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Latty officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
