Mr. David McClain

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. David McClain, age 73, of Commerce, Georgia who entered rest Monday May 29, 2023. Mr. McClain was born in Jackson County, Georgia the son of the late Paul McClain and the late Grace Kennedy McClain. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brothers, Donnie McClain, and Paul McClain, Jr. and a sister Emma Lou McClain Dills. 

Mr. McClain retired from Jackson EMC, was a self-employed mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his loving companion, Mary Ann Mealor of Commerce, GA. His children, Chad McClain of Gainesville, GA, Josh Key of Tennessee, Jessica Anthony (Brad) of Crawford, GA and Dale Lawson (Ashley) of Friendship, TN. Sister, Mary Jane Cain of Jefferson, GA. Brother-in-law, Roy Bowden (Toni) of Covington, GA. Two sisters-in-law, Francine Bowden of Cleveland, GA and Louise Bowden of Homer, GA. Eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 1, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Dooley officiating. Interment will follow at Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at Evans Funeral Home.
