Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Dennis Dean Cain, age 65 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Monday, May 18, 2026 with his wife by his side after a two and one half year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Mr. Cain was born in Winder, Georgia a son of the late William Howard Cain and the late Nellie Hall Cain. Mr. Cain was a 1978 graduate of Jefferson High School and Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving as part of the Multi National Peace Keeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon 1982 – 1984. He also participated in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983. Mr. Cain enjoyed a successful thirty-two year career in automotive sales.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years and high school sweetheart, Penny Sosebee Cain of Jefferson. Two sons, Brandon Cain and his wife Carley of Perry and Blair Cain and his wife Hannah of Gainesville. Three grandchildren, Calla Cain, Cart Cain, and Olivia Cain. Sister, Diane Thompson of Fayetteville. Brother, Billy Cain (Barbara) of Jefferson. Brother-in-Law, Buster Shirley of Jefferson, mother-in-law Betty Sosebee of Jefferson. Father-in-law W.T. Sosebee (Peggy) of Talmo and sister- in-law Peg Sauls of Jefferson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cain is preceded by a sister, Pat Cain Shirley and two brothers in law, Steve Sauls and Alan Thompson.
Graveside memorial services with Military Honors will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Evans Memory Gardens with the United States Marine Corp and Pastor Jeff Williams officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Evans Funeral home 2:00 – 4:00 P.M..
