Mr. Donald Franklin Trainer

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Donald Franklin Trainer, age 80, of Commerce, Georgia who entered rest Friday, April 3, 2026. Mr. Trainer was born in Covington, Virginia the son of the late Viola Trainer Humphries. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Humphries and Tommy Humphries.

Mr. Trainer was self-employed with Sun States Mortgage Company. He attended the Jefferson Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Trainer was a member of the Albert Gordon Post 56, Jefferson, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy B. Trainer of Commerce, GA. His children, DeWayne Trainer (Mark Pye) of St. Louis, MO, David Trainer (Crystal) of Winder, GA and Sharon Mauney (Jared) of Bogart, GA. Grandchildren, Blasson Mauney, McCade Mauney and Ryan Trainer. Sister, Susie Humphries of Rock Hill, SC. 

In accordance with Mr. Trainer’s wishes he will be cremated and private services will be held at a later date.
