Mr. E B Shannon

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. E B Shannon, age 88 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Monday, December 4, 2023.  Mr. Shannon was born in Jackson County, Georgia the son of the late William and Mattie Myers Shannon.  Mr. Shannon and his wife owned and operated Shannon’s Country Store for thirty five years.  Mr. Shannon was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, and in addition to his parents, Mr. Shannon is preceded by sisters Alline Rives, Beatrice Cain and Edith Metcalf.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Geneva Phillips Shannon of Jefferson.  Sister Vivian Waddell of Winder and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2023 from the White Plains Baptist Church with Reverend Cary Pittman and Reverend Kevin Page officiating with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.   Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Chad Flanigan, Benjamen Gunter, Jeremy Gunter, Rod Hill, Larry Banks, and Kyle Banks.  The family will receive friends 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home.
