Mr. Edgar Herringdine Jr.

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Edgar Herringdine Jr., age 75, of Jefferson, who passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023. Mr. Herringdine was the son of the late Charlie Edgar Herringdine Sr. and the late Willie Mae Phillips Herringdine. Mr. Herringdine was a member of the Lebanon Community Church, where he loved to sing. He enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo, fishing, travelling and riding his motorcycle. Mr. Herringdine was experienced in HVAC and retired from Jefferson City Schools, where he served in the janitorial department. In addition to his parents, Mr. Herringdine was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Cranford Herringdine.

Survivors include his daughters, Dana Lynn Frye and her husband Marcus of Winder; Katie Carroll of Jefferson; brothers, Donald Herringdine and his wife Julie, of Jackson, GA, Ronald Herringdine and his wife Sybil of Barnesville, GA; and a sister, Judy Hogan and her husband Greg of Carrolton, GA also survives.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Palmer Pace officiating. The burial will follow at 1:30PM in the North Atlanta Memorial Park with Mr. Greg Hogan officiating.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2023 from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM at Evans Funeral Home.
