Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. James Gary Black, age 66 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, May 9, 2026. Mr. Black was born in Winder, Georgia a son of the late James Edward Black and the late Billie Dean McCain Black. Mr. Black was a member of Galilee Christian Church, formerly owned and operated Black’s Store, was retired from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and was a Cattle Farmer.
Mr. Black is survived by his Son, Dusty Black and Dallas of Flowery Branch. Grandchildren, Hudson Black and Hadlee Black of Flowery Branch. Lisa Black of Commerce. Brother, Chad Black and Denise of Jefferson. Niece and nephews, McCain Black, Tyler, Kaleb and Mason Alexander.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, May 12, 2026 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home with a concluding prayer by Mr. Mark Mitton at 7:00 P.M.
