Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Gregory “Greg” Fryer, age 66, of Snellville, Georgia, who entered into rest on Thursday, April 29, 2026. Born in Decatur, Georgia, Greg was the son of the late Thurmond Glover Fryer and the late Imogene Elizabeth Ray Fryer. A dedicated hardworking professional, Greg served as a lead supervisor with Johns Manville for forty-eight years, retiring with a legacy of hard work and commitment.
To those who knew him best, Greg was defined by his love for the life lived outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing or walking the green for a round of golf, he found his greatest peace in nature. At home, Greg was just as active, often found in the kitchen or at the grill. He was an avid cook who took joy in preparing meals for his loved ones. Above all his hobbies, his greatest passion was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and a proud grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his four grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Dee Ann Fryer of Snellville, GA. Son, Gregory Andy Fryer (Niki) of Loganville, GA. Daughter, Ashley Lanier (Chad) of Lula, GA. Four grandchildren, Max, Madison, Mason Lanier and Harper Fryer. Sister, Mindi Plantinga of Tennessee.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday May 9, 2026 at Jackson County Baptist Church, Jefferson, GA with Reverend Matt Booher officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 Noon until time of service at 1 P.M. at the church.
