Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Horace D. Stephens, age 79 of Talmo, Georgia who entered rest Friday, September 26, 2025. Mr. Stephens was born in Gainesville, Georgia a son of the late John and Carrie Ellis Stephens. Mr. Stephens was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a retired Train Engineer with Northfolk Southern Railway after thirty years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Jo Webb Stephens of Talmo. Two sons, Kyle Stephens of Talmo, and Taff Stephens of Jefferson. Sister, Lois Bishop of Dawsonville, brother, Edward Stephens of Chestnut Mountain.
In accordance with the wishes of Mr. Stephens, his remains are to be cremated and the family will be having a visitation for family and friends on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, Georgia.
