Mr. James Roy Brownlee

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. James Roy Brownlee, age 77, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Tuesday August 27, 2024. Mr. Brownlee was born in Lebanon, Indiana the son of the late Vernon Roy Brownlee and the late Arlene Vaughn Brownlee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Banks Brownlee, sister, Janet Helf and a brother, Jerry Brownlee. 

Mr. Brownlee retired as a gate agent with Delta Airlines. He loved to fish, spending time in the mountains and he never met a stranger. He was a member of the Jefferson Church but the most important thing in his life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include daughter, Kelly Friend (Rob) of Gainesville, GA. Son, Kevin Brownlee (Melanie) of Bogart, GA. Three grandchildren, Morgan DeAvila (Caleb) of Braselton, GA, Isaac Hickey of Suwanee, Ga and Isabella Walton of Athens, GA.

A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 7, 2024 in the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Ronald Wilson officiating. The family will greet friends after the service.
