Mr. James "Jim" Robert Dodson

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. James “Jim” Robert Dodson, age 74, of Athens, Georgia who entered rest Thursday, August 21, 2025. Mr. Dodson was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on June 16, 1951, to Mr. and Mrs. Max Dodson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Smith.

He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Agricultural Education. Over the years as a salesman in animal health and nutrition, he lived in 10 states from Idaho to Connecticut to Missouri. After retiring from Michigan Milk he moved to Athens, GA where he volunteered as an assistant teacher in the UGA College of Agricultural Sales and Marketing mentoring students on resume writing and interviewing for various jobs in the field.

He is survived by his wife, Lyn, and two daughters, Erin Dodson-Kochmann (Greg), Boston, MA, Courtney Dodson-Smith, Davenport, FL.

He will be missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
