Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Jedidiah David Mercardante, age 46, of Winder, Georgia, who entered into rest on Saturday, March 28, 2026.Mr. Mercardante was born in San Diego, California, the son of Rev. Vince D. Mercardante and Rosemarie Orlett Mercardante. He was a devoted member and Worship Leader at A Call to Salvation, where his passion for faith and music touched many lives.
Jedidiah had a deep love for music and was proud to be a member of the University of Georgia Redcoat Band, as well as an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. He cherished time spent with his family, enjoyed cooking, and brought joy to those around him with his warm spirit and servant’s heart.
Professionally, he worked as an IT Specialist with Artera, where he was respected for his knowledge, dedication, and work ethic.
He will be remembered for his faith, his love of family, and the impact he made on everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his father, Rev. Vince D. Mercardante and mother, Rosemarie Mercardante of Winder. Three brothers, Vince Mercardante (Ashley) of Jefferson, Joshua Mercardante (Ashley) of Flowery Branch and Micah J. Mercardante (Paige) of Jefferson. Ten nieces and nephews and two great nieces also survive.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 2, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Arlene Smith officiating with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Thursday, prior to the service.
