Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Jimmy Thomas Langford, age 86 of Maysville, Georgia, who entered rest Friday, December 26, 2025.
Mr. Langford was born in Athens, Georgia, and was the son of the late Oscar Newton “Buck” Langford and the late Wilma Louise Gee Langford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Ginny Langford, and Bill and Sue Langford; son-in-law, Chad Archer; and nephews Bryon Langford and Darrell Hart.
Mr. Langford, a member of Holly Springs Methodist Church, worked as a retired truck driver and was also well known as a veteran driver on several North Georgia all-dirt speedways.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Brenda A. Langford of Maysville; four daughters, Glenda Langford of Maysville, Terry Wood (Rusty) of Florida, Tammy Langford of Athens, and Kim Archer of Maysville; five grandchildren, Emily Leach (Kevin) of Florida, Sarah Hopper (Ryan) of Peachtree City, Abby Bonanno (Brian) of Florida, Hagen Archer (Riya) of California, and Raiden Archer of Maysville; five great-grandchildren, Olivia Leach, Charlie Pride, Ana Leach, Lily Jane Leach, and William Hopper; including a brother, Ricky Langford and many nieces and nephews.
In accordane with Mr. Langford’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held at this time. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America (FLFA) or to Pruitt Hospice in memory of Mr. Jimmy Thomas Langford.
