Mr. Joseph Bailey

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Joseph Bailey, age 82, of Athens, Georgia, who passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 in Greensboro, Georgia. Mr. Bailey was a supervisor with the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of the Tabor Chapel Church. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, Enose and Pauline Carruth Bailey, brother, James Willis Bailey and sister, Lula Cochran. 

Survivors include his wife Olivia Borders Bailey of Athens; son, Jason Bailey (Suprena); sisters, Betty Bailey, Rosa Bailey and Jannie Curry (James); grandchildren, Brooklyn Bailey, Taylor Bailey and Great Grandchild, Nilha Watkins. Nieces, Satrina (Kenny) Reid, Tracy Gillespie, DeShawn (Sam) Thomas, Chaitra Curry, Lynette Bailey, Annette (Chris) Newton and Lakesha (Eugene) Farrell, Cheri Cochran (Archie) . Nephews, Bernard (Pam) Bailey and Andra (Carmen) Bailey.

In accordance with the wishes of Mr. Bailey, his remains were cremated and a private service will be held on a later date.
