Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Larry Lamar “Pop” Gaddis, age 79 of Braselton, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, May 23, 2026. Mr. Gaddis was born on August 28, 1946 in Jackson County, a son of the late Edgar Gaddis and the late Margie Pressley Gaddis.
He worked for twenty-one years at SCT Yarn Company. After the mill closed, he went to work for Gainesville Rubber & Gasket. Where he worked in the warehouse, made gaskets, and delivered products to customers.
Mr. Gaddis loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He spent over forty years bowling in local leagues and built many lasting friendships along the way. He had a lifelong appreciation for ’57 Chevrolets and the music he grew up with.
He was known as a man who was both smart and strong, and someone who always let you know exactly where you stood with him. In his free time, he enjoyed talking about sports and spending time in his shop, where he took great pride in working on small engine repairs.
Mr. Gaddis is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Geraldine Brown Gaddis of Braselton; his sons, Larry D. Gaddis;Wesley Gaddis (Renata); and Anthony Gaddis (Tosha). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Taylor G., Driston (Lotty), Mollie (Taylor A.), Emilee (Kane), Mason, Ruthie Mae, and McKennon; and three great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Robby Brown and Reverend Wesley Gaddis officiating with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Kane Arnold, Driston Gaddis, Mason Gaddis, McKennon Gaddis, Joe Gaddis and Adam Gaddis. The family will receive friends 1:00 – 3:00 prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.
