Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Leon Edgar Daniels, age 75, of Bethlehem, GA, who entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Leon was born on December 14, 1950, in Spokane, WA, a son to the late Llewellyn Edgar Daniels and the late Dorothy May Russum Daniels. Leon was the owner and operator of A-1 Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning and also specialized in water damage restoration services, working alonside his wife in their business for 45 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany during the Vietnam War. For the past five years, he was a member of Restoration Church in Bethlehem, GA and was formerly a member of Bible Fellowship in Federal Way, WA. Leon fervently loved God and worked hard all his life for his family, whom he loved more than anything. He enjoyed hunting and camping, gold mining, four-wheeling, traveling, playing games with family and friends, and was well-known for his hearty laugh, trademark mustache, and wearing Hawaiian shirts.
In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Dottie Lu and Daniel Graham. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Margaret Inez Sitzler Daniels of Bethlehem, GA; daughter, Angela Cecile Daniels of Auburn, WA; son, Christopher Leon (Stacy Annette) Daniels of Loganville, GA; daughter Jennifer Leanne (Joshua Francis) Steele of Haymarket, VA; brothers, Lynn Eric (RaeAnn) Daniels of Federal Way, WA; and Richard Llewellyn (Cindy Luann) Daniels of Winnsboro, TX; grandchildren, Danielle Ashley (Jason Anthony) Palmer of Federal Way, WA; Mikayla Cecile (Navjot Singh) Riar of Auburn, WA; Jasmine Renee Thomas of Seattle, WA; Malik Leon and Andre Lumbwe Chiwele of Auburn, WA; Isaac James, David Leon, and Nathan Aaron Daniels of Loganville, GA; Sydney Mireya, Kindred Avery, Mercy Bella, and Zoe Destiny Steele of Haymarket, VA; great-grandchild, Maya Lorraine Palmer of Federal Way, WA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The celebration of Leon's life will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Restoration Church in Bethlehem, GA with Pastor Ben Warrick and Pastor Donnie Pennington officiating. The burial will follow at 2:00 PM in the Georgia National Veterans Cemetery with son, Chris Daniels; son-in-law, Josh Steele; grandsons, Issac, David, and Nathan Daniels; and friend, Bobby Moore honored as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM until 9:00AM at the Restoration Church, prior to the service.
