Mr. Lonnie Dale Martin

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Lonnie Dale Martin, age 47, of Athens, GA, a part of the South Jackson Community, who passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Mr. Martin was born in Athens, Georgia, a son to Jimmy and Carmen Anita Hanvey Martin of Athens. Mr. Martin worked as an Airplane and Power Plant Mechanic with Delta Airlines and was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Statham, Georgia.

Survivors include his son, Dakota Martin and his wife Miranda of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Kaylan Herndon and her husband Levi of Lutherville, GA; parents, Jimmy and Anita Martin of Athens; brothers, Steve Martin and his wife Laney of Grayson; Bobby Martin and his wife Kaleigh of Hoschton and a nephew, Kaleb Martin, also survives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:30 PM in the New Life Baptist Church, 2603 Rat Kinney Road, Statham, GA 30666, with Reverend Dewayne Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Life Baptist Church, 2603 Rat Kinney Road, Statham, GA 30666.
