Mr. Pete Vincent Congi

Mr. Pete Vincent Congi, age 66, known as “Pete” to his Georgia family and friends, and as “Vinny” to his West Virginia family and friends, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Mr. Congi was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a son to the late Pete and Wilma Gay Congi. Mr. Congi grew up in Haywood, WV, where he attended Lumberport High School, and played in the High School Band. He played bass guitar at Erastus Christian Church and Galilee Christian Church.  He worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts in Commerce, where he retired in 2024. He was a member of Erastus Christian Church in Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Eskew Congi of Jefferson; daughter, Marilena “Lena” Congi of Athens; son, Anthony Joseph “AJ” Congi of Toccoa; step-son, Michael Vernon Cowan Sr. and his wife Katie of Jefferson; step-daughter, Carla Renee Cowan of Jefferson; siblings, Marie Congi Davidson and brother-in-law, Don Davidson of Bridgeport, WV; Mary E. Congi Barnett and brother-in-law John L. Barnett of Mt. Clare, WV; Dominick S. Congi of Clarksburg, WV; and Carmen D. Congi and sister-in-law, Jen Fisher of Morgantown, WV, and nephews, Saverio Joseph “Sammy Joe” Congi and Landon John Fisher-Congi of Morgantown, WV; five grandchildren,  Lily Cowan, Grace Buonocore, John Buonocore, MJ Cowan and Asa Cowan also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Erastus Christian Church in Commerce, GA with Reverend Vaughn Howington Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Erastus Christian Church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made Erastus Christian Church, 2050 Neese Commerce Rd., Commerce, GA 30530, for use in the Good Samaritan Ministry at Erastus Christian Church.
