Mr. Raymond Church

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Raymond Church, age 92 of Hoschton, Georgia who entered rest Friday, March 1, 2024.  Mr. Church was born in Jefferson, Georgia the son of the late Ollie and Clara Doster Church, was a poultry and cattle farmer and member of White Plains Baptist Church.  Mr. Church was instrumental in promoting Gospel Music throughout the Southeast for many years through Raymond Church Promotions.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Church is preceded by his wife, Sarah Holcomb Church, grandson, Jeffery Franklin, step-son, Henry Craig, step-daughter, Margie Cofield and a great grandson, Justin Cofield.

Survivors include two step-sons, John Craig of Clarksville, GA and Tim Craig of Bowman, GA. Step-daughter, Carolyn Craig of Jefferson, GA. Ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren also survive.

A Gospel Music Celebration for Raymond Church will be held 5:00 P.M. Sunday March 3, 2024 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be on Monday March 4, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 3650 Highway 124 W, Jefferson, GA 30549.
