Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Raymond Verner Martin, age 88 of Statham, Georgia (South Jackson Community) who entered rest Thursday, March 28, 2024. Mr. Martin was born in Homer, Georgia a son of the late Lawrence and Pamela Lewallen Martin. Mr. Martin was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Winder Gas Department. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin is preceded by his wife, Margaret Ann Cain Martin, and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son, Paul Wayne Martin and his wife Rhonda of Statham. Two grandsons, Joshua Cain Martin of Statham and Billy Paul Martin of Lawrenceville. Sister in law Peggy Jones of Statham. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder, Georgia. Visitation will be held at the graveside.
