Mr. Ricky David Whitlock

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Ricky David Whitlock, age 56, of Nicholson, Georgia who entered rest Monday, April 20, 2026. Ricky was born in Commerce, Georgia the son of the late Donald Whitlock and the late Mildred Austin Whitlock. He retired after 32 years from Athens Clarke County as a maintenance technician but had been working at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital recently. Ricky loved being outdoors, either fishing, hunting or camping. He loved watching all sports but especially his Georgia Bulldogs. 

Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Trixie Whitlock of Nicholson, GA. Daughter, Kristin Whitlock of Nicholson, GA. Son, Cody Whitlock of Nicholson, GA. Grandson, Liam Whitlock of Nicholson, GA. Sister, Karen Frank (Ricky) of lla, GA. Brother, Danny Whitlock (Cindy) of Commerce, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives who he deeply adored.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M Friday, April 24, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend William Puckett and Mr. Chris Shirley officiating with burial to follow at Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, Georgia. Honored as pallbearers are Chris Benton, Robert Akin, Rodney Walker, Johnny Wayne McLendon, Brent Madden and Wesley McElreath. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, April 23, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
