Mr. Steven Lee Sanders

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Steven Lee Sanders, age 60, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Sanders was born on September 8, 1965 in Athens, Georgia, a son to the late Adolph and Peggy Joyce Kirkley Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a licensed massage therapist and was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Gulf War and was in Operation Desert Storm.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Bailey Sanders of Jefferson, GA ; son, Samuel James Sanders of Jefferson, GA; include several nieces, nephews, cousins and many others also survive.

In accordance with the wishes of Mr. Sanders, his remains were cremated, and a private service will be held on a later date.
