Mr. Vernon Barnom Powell

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Vernon Barnom Powell, age 87 of Commerce, Georgia who entered rest Thursday, March 2, 2023.  Mr. Powell was born in Cranks, Kentucky, a son of the late Roy and Edna Patterson Powell.  Mr. Powell was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed the outdoors and bird hunting with his dear friend Mark Doss.  Mr. Powell was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a coal truck operator and a water plant operator.

Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Shirley Ceonatser Powell.  Daughters, Vanessa Mosher (Phil), Brooke Rhea (Bobby) and Beth Powell.  Grandaughters, Brittany Sikes (Gary), Brandy Fantom (Jon).  Great granddaughters, Karsyn and Kaelyn Rhea, Riley Mills, Preslee Brackett, Meadow Saylor, Brooklynn Fantom, Layla Fantom and Briella Fantom. Sister Bobbie Gordon and a nephew Roy Dan Jackson also survives.
