Mrs. Barbaranne (Head) Hammond

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Barbaranne Head Hammond, age 84 of Maysville, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, May 23, 2026.  Mrs. Hammond was born in Commerce, Georgia a daughter of the late Horace H. Head and the late Mera Gober Head.  Mrs. Hammond attended Grove Level Church, and was a retired Office Manager with Alcoa Aluminum.  Mrs. Hammond was blessed with a beautiful voice, loved music and reading and loved to study the Bible.  She loved everyone she met in life’s journey, and everyone could always tell because of the big smile she always had.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by her husband Joel Charles Hammond of Maysville.  step-daughters, Vicky Hammond Culberson of Royston, Cathy Ann Hammond Warner of Lilburn, and Terri Hammond Faires (Ned) of Mauldin, South Carolina.  step-son, Michael David Hammond of Flowery Branch.  Sister, Marcia Hudson of Jonesboro.  Brothers, Mike Head (Brenda) of Wilmington, North Carolina, Pat Head (Bev Collins) of Marietta, and Christopher Head (Betsy) of Roanoke, Virginia.  Nine step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. Joel Hammond officiating with burial in Dry Pond Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home.
