Mrs. Carmen Dainida (Matos) Fanczi

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Carmen Dainida Fanczi, age 90, of Anderson, South Carolina, who entered rest Thursday, November 6, 2025. Mrs. Fanczi was born in the Dominican Republic, the daughter of the late Nestor Matos and the late Maria Rocha Matos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Istvan Fanczi, and great-grandsons Barrett James Fanczi and August Latimer.

Mrs. Fanczi worked as a teacher, a bookkeeper, and a small business owner and was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include son, Steve Fanczi (wife, Lisa) of Anderson, SC. Two daughters, Anna Fanczi of Anderson, SC and Katalin Fanczi Longdon (husband, Nick) of Sydney, Australia. Five grandchildren, Steven Fanczi (wife, Brandi) of Jefferson, GA, Jessica Latimer (husband, Chase)of Woodstock, GA, Sarah Pilgrim (husband, Kade) of Jacksonville, FL, Stephen Longdon of Austin, TX, and Andrew Longdon of Sydney, Australia.  Three great-grandsons, Colton Allen Fanczi, Landon James Fanczi, and Theodore Lewis Latimer.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eric Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.

In accordance with Mrs. Fanczi’s wishes, she was cremated, and her cremains were buried in Evans Memory Gardens, Jefferson, Georgia.
