Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Carol Prestridge Cooper, age 89 of Pendergrass, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, February 8, 2025. Mrs. Cooper was born in Atlanta, Georgia a daughter of the late Eddie W. and Mozelle Gilmer Prestridge. Mrs. Cooper retired from Suntrust Bank and was a member of Talmo Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cooper is preceded by a sister, Gloria Prestridge.
Survivors include her husband Howard Cooper of Pendergrass. Two daughters, Amy Brown (Randall) of Pendergrass and Betsy Garner (Joel) of Buford. Grandchildren; Melissa Thomas (Chris) of Pendergrass and Eric Garner of Buford. Two great grandchildren; Breelan Thomas and Braylee Thomas of Pendergrass. Brother in law, Larry Cooper (Brenda) of Lafayette, LA and a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 10, 2025 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Merk and Reverend Richard Merk officiating with burial to follow in Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Greg Bell, Willie Pittmon, Jimmy Cole, Mitch Chapman, Lamar Elrod and Matt Rouse. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
