Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Carol Mae Rabren, age 84, of Athens, Georgia (South Jackson Community) who entered rest Thursday, December 5, 2024. Mrs. Rabren was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Christ Wiegand and the late Margaret Glatz Wiegand. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Lee Rabren.
Mrs. Rabren worked as a dog groomer and was a member of Southside Church. She loved to be outside, working in her garden, flower beds, cutting her grass. Watching the Falcons, Green Bay Packers and the Georgia Bulldogs was a big enjoyment, plus going out dancing and being around people.
Survivors include three daughters, Darci Houmes of Athens, GA, Christi Coffman (Chuck) of McDonough, GA and Traci Briscoe (Roy) of Alpharetta, GA. Seven grandchildren, Dawn Prather (Lee) of Jefferson, GA, Cayla Coffman, Crystal Coffman and Christopher Coffman all of McDonough, GA, Justin Gentile of Sarasota, FL, Jordan Gentile of Alpharetta, GA and Joshua Gentile (Nicole) of Sarasota, FL. Three great grandchildren, Noelle, Maverick and Evelyn also survive.
In accordance with Mrs. Rabren wishes, she will be cremated and services will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
