Mrs. Carolyn Rand (Smith) Mahoney

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Carolyn Rand Smith Mahoney, age 82, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Thursday March 20, 2025. Mrs. Mahoney was born in Boston, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Rand Smith and the late Ruth Comstock Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Mahoney.

Mrs. Mahoney was a retired Register Nurse working at the Nevada State Prison System and was of the Catholic Faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Julia Mahoney (Ronald) of Bridgewater, MA and Amy Jones (Robert) of London, England. Two grandchildren, Sophia Mahoney and Samantha Mahoney. Sister, Nancy A. Loyal of Jefferson, GA and two brothers, Stephen and Stewart Smith. 

In accordance with Mrs. Mahoney’s wishes, she will be cremated and her cremains will be interred in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
