Mrs. Deana Lynn (Merritt) Holmes

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Deana Lynn Merritt Holmes, age 60 of Maysville, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, July 27, 2024.  Mrs. Holmes was born in Miami, Florida the daughter of the late Paul and Bonnie Law Merritt. Mrs. Holmes graduated from Miami Springs High School in Miami, FL and attended Free Chapel. Mrs. Holmes was loved by her family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include. Her husband Steve Holmes of Maysville; children, Alex Steele of Virginia, Jennifer Brodeux of Atlanta, Danielle Merritt of Miami, Stephanie Strickland of Commerce, Rebecca Gridham of Michigan and Caitlin Ashmun of Arnoldsville, GA; grandchildren, Zakary, Rhylee, Roger, Ayianna, Angela, Jean-Luc, Kayden, Kaleigh, Knox, Kennedy, Alexis and Junior also survive.

In accordance with Mrs. Holmes wishes, her remains were cremated and a private memorial service will be held on a later date.

Though her smile is gone forever 

and her hand I cannot touch

I still have so many memories

Of the one I loved so much.

Her memory is now my keepsake

Which I’ll never part.

God has her in his keeping

I have her in my heart.

Sadly missed, but never forgotten.
