Mrs. Edna Goodin Obituary

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Ms. Edna Marion Goodin, age 92, of Winder, Georgia, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Mrs. Goodin was born on Christmas Day, 1931, in Schenectady, New York, a daughter to the late Erwin Theodore Warner and the late Eva Alice Towns Warner. Mrs. Goodin retired from her position as an answering service general manager in the 90s.  She held other titles, including baker (specializing in wedding cakes), and seamstress (specializing in the creation and alterations of wedding gowns).  In addition, Ms. Goodin spent many years of her life to being the hands and feet of Jesus, volunteering in a family-centered drug rehabilitation center, serving as a house mother for pregnant teenagers, running in a homeless shelter home, and devoting time to The Salvation Army (including being a bell ringer).

Ms. Goodin will be remembered for her strong faith and love of Jesus.  In the mid 70s, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and spent the rest of her life telling others about Him and His never-ending grace.  She would tell everyone, anywhere that all they had to do is accept Jesus as their Savior – You don’t have to be good enough.  Christ accepts you just as you are.  She knew this first hand because He changed her life forever.  She lived a Psalm 78:4 life.

In her 60s, Ms. Goodin went to Christ for the Nations Bible School, to “study to show thyself approved”.  She never stopped learning.  In her latter days when she could no longer read her Bible, she listened to teachings on television every day.  She would also listen to hymns and praise music for hours.

Ms. Goodin was an honorary “mom” to so many individuals across the country that it would be hard to list them all here. Each and every one had a special place in her heart and she often spoke of them all.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Goodin was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Boniecki and Raymond F. Jeannott; her son, Robert Boniecki; her sister Joan Kondratowizc; and her brother Charles Edward Warner.

Survivors include her children, Harold “Dan” Boniecki and his wife Janet of Rexford, NY, Cheryl Dibble of Schenectady, NY, Frank Boniecki and his wife Darlene of Schenectady, NY, Joy Davis and her husband Terry of Winder, GA, Eva Daniell and Jonathon Daniell of Cedar Creek, TX; step children, Raymond Jeannott, Jr. (Marcia) of Crosby, TX, and Donna Jeannott of Ballston Spa.
